Entertainment
From making plans with friends to see movies to real-time chatting during TV shows, social media is changing the way people talk about entertainment. We use this tremendous volume of chatter to help make sure entertainment marketers and decision-makers have the data and insight they need.
Fizziology Movie Tracker
The Fizziology Movie Tracker provides social media intelligence for theatrical releases. The weekly report includes volume, sentiment, insight and analysis for all major releases from 4 weeks before opening through 3 weeks after release.
Fizziology Talent Tracker
The Fizziology Talent Tracker monitors social media conversations for individual talent. It measures the conversation volume for over 2,000 stars. The data is ranked by weekly volume, a 4-week average volume, and is searchable by name, gender, age and media.
Custom Reports
With thousands of tracked entertainment properties across social media, we have a deep pool of data from which to provide custom reports. We’ve done custom reports on major movie trends, themes, seasons and individual titles. Some of the things we can provide include:
- What people are saying. It can be a character, an actor, a breakout scene or a specific joke or line. It can be a specific comparison to another movie. Or it can be something that is said by a social media star that is being echoed across the conversation. We can identify what elements are driving the social conversation – both good and bad.
- Who is talking. We can analyze the conversation and determine what kind of person is talking about the movie. We break the conversation into personas – groups of like-minded fans ranging from Older Sophisticate to Fanboy to Teen/Tween. We can tell you which personas comprise the conversation and if chatter is breaking from the core audience to a wider audience or if it’s staying concentrated with existing fans.
- The impact of marketing. We can do specific searches to analyze how campaign materials – from trailers to TV commercials to posters – are impacting the conversation.
- Playability reports. We can look at opening weekend chatter and provide a report Monday morning post-release of what people are saying coming out of the weekend to help studios gauge playability.
- Box office predictions. With over 200 movies in our system, we have created modeling systems to make box office predictions based on our social media data. Our forecasting algorithms use raw volume of positive, negative and neutral social media chatter, the average box office for the particular weekend (averaged over the last 5 years), the number of screens a movie is appearing on, and genre averages.
- "Intensity of Interest." We also have a formula for determining potential interest in home entertainment based on the “Intensity of Interest” in a movie when it is released theatrically.
